Covalent Bonding Dot-Cross Diagrams

This activity includes an information sheet which shows students how to complete dot-cross diagrams, and lots of examples to practice with. I made this to go with a revision video I made (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV2KxBxmOKA) and have since used it as an independent learning task with students working remotely. They can use the video for guidance as many of the practice question examples are worked through during the video. Note that 2 of the examples on the back (sulfur and methane) are not on the video as I didn’t want it to be too long, however I thought it was important to include them as they may come up in exams. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Particularly if you are remote working and can let me know how your students found it. :) Typo in the preview corrected in actual file :)
Periodic Table Research Task

Periodic Table Research Task

(0)
Students research the periodic table using laptops (or information sheets) and fill in their sheet, then produce a leaflet on the periodic table and atomic structure. You can easily change the ‘demonstrate’ task at the bottom of the sheet or add another question. Created with OCR 21st Century Science Topic C2 (Chemical Patterns) in mind but would work for other specifications or could be easily adapted. (The preview is cropped but the actual document has borders!)

Calculating Efficiency - Worksheet with Differentiated Graded Questions & Answer Sheet

(0)
Worksheet questions on calculating efficiency of an appliance. Questions are graded and increase in difficulty (no rearranging/converting, converting units, rearranging equations and converting units, 2-step processes). An answer sheet is included for self-marking/correction. Used with mid-ability Y10 for P2 - Sustainable Energy on OCR 21st Century, but works with most specifications. Some questions at the end combine the power equation with the efficiency equation.

Digestive System Assembly Activity/Challenge

Digestive System Assembly Activity/Challenge

(1)
I laminated and cut out the images/names/functions of different organs of the digestive system then asked students to assemble a whole digestive system with correct labels. I used this as a competition by splitting students into 2 teams, with the winners being the first to assemble all the images and labels correctly. I created this according to the AQA Trilogy GCSE specification but you could edit it to use keywords from other specifications e.g. duodenum. You could also use it with AQA Activate 2 (year 8).
Organelle 'Guess Who' Worksheet

Organelle 'Guess Who' Worksheet

(1)
'Guess Who' worksheet for Y7 lesson on plant and animal cells. Students identify the organelle from a description of its function. Based on AQA Activate - B1, Cells - 1.2, Plant and Animal Cells (p16 of Activate 1 textbook). You could also ask students to identify which type of cell the organelle is present in, and offer an extension task to write a paragraph explaining the differences between plant and animal cell structure. Feel free to edit to suit your learning objectives and share!
