Phonics Shopping List Game

Phonics Shopping List Game

(2)
A lot of people have asked me to share this resource. I used it loads when I worked in EYFS during my phonics sessions and out in the continuous provision. I have added sound buttons on the first list as an example but I usually just do this once it’s printed out. Of course, the resource can be adapted (I’ve added iphones instead of shopping lists to the bottom to make it realistic for nowadays) different foods can be added depending on what sounds you’re focusing on, too. Homework Grid

Homework Grid

(0)
I use these homework grids for my KS2 class and have found them super useful. The children know they must practise: spellings, timestables and read their books every day no matter what. The other options work in a point system; the trickier the task, the more points. Giving pupils a choice with their homework saw more children completing it. The pupil with the most homework ‘points’ at the end of a half term would get a prize. I choose different tasks each half term to suit the theme of that half term and the book we are focusing on in English. The tasks are separated into creative development, knowledge and understanding of the world and communication and language, so children get an experience across these weekly. Goal Free Mathematics Question Cards

Goal Free Mathematics Question Cards

(1)
These cards are designed as a ‘mastery’ type task. They can be edited to suit a particular topic of coverage in maths, from number and place value to statistics to fractions. The questions are to help children think about information themselves, decide which parts of the problem THEY think are important and make notes before being asked a question…where they usually have already considered the answer anyway but weren’t under pressure to do so. These work well as a starter or extension tasks Please tag me if you use any of my resources @miss.ejobson on Instagram. Any feedback is welcomed! Miss Jobson x

Re-ordering an Argument

Re-ordering an Argument

(0)
During our unit studying the book Coraline, I planned for the children to write their own debate of whether Coraline should choose to live in her new world or her original world. This resource is an argument I wrote myself, which includes conjunctions (highlighted in red). The idea is to cut the sections into strips (there’s an LA and a HA option) and the class re-ordered them so the argument made sense. It can be done independently or in pairs.
