I've taught English for 17 years and love creating new resources! I have spent time learning how to use design programs such as InDesign or Photoshop, and this has allowed me to make the work I produce more visually engaging. I am passionate about exploring fun new ways of helping students develop reading, writing and speaking skills, and this inspired me to set up a crime scene mystery kit company- Box Clever Education- in 2016.

This resource challenges students to look in microscopic detail at 6 critical lines from Macbeth. It asks them to consider individual word choices, the effects of techniques and the historical context of the lines. This can be used either as a teaching material or as a revision task, and there is the opportunity for students to do further supporting research to enhance their knowledge of the line. Please note that this resource is designed to be printed onto A3.

'The Curious Case of the Clockwork Cleaner’ is a professionally produced murder mystery kit designed specifically for secondary schools. This product seeks to provide a school with absolutely everything they would need to deliver an engaging murder mystery event within a school library. Featuring a generic plot line that is adaptable to any school, ‘The Curious Case of the Clockwork Cleaner’ challenges students to piece together a wide range of clues and information, in order to uncover the truth about the mysterious demise of a school cleaner.
‘The Curious Case of the Clockwork Cleaner’ is primarily designed to aid in the development of students’ literacy and employability skills. The majority of clues are text-based and require students to read into subtle inferences to determine WHO committed the crime, HOW they did it and WHY they did it. Students will need to cross-reference information and think laterally in order to produce an effective written response. If run as a team-based competition, it is a fantastic way to encourage constructive group discussions, as students pool their ideas to come up with a solution.
This product pact contains everything required to run a murder mystery event, including 68 individual clue cards and a wide range of support materials.
