Welcome to Goodeyedeers - the home of quality resources for primary teachers. Visit us and check out some great ideas. I'm Mike Jackson, a former primary headteacher. I've teamed up with a fellow retiree David Horner who was a freelance children's poet delivering poetry workshops to children and teachers in schools across this country and abroad. Challenge your children with this set of 32 engaging two-digit addition riddle task cards. Suitable for years 2 and 3. The resource includes 32 two-digit addition (with regrouping) riddle task cards. One set in colour and another in black and white to help reduce printing costs. Also included are 8 blank cards for children to create their own riddle task cards; an answer grid; a recording sheet for the children and a board game for them to play using their riddle task cards. How can you use these task cards in your classroom? Use a card as a warm-up session before your maths lesson. Hide cards around the classroom; armed with clipboards and answering sheets the children look for them. Assessment - use some of the cards to see if a child understands the concept. Pairs can work together to solve cards and then quiz each other. They can be used as an enrichment or revision activity for children who finish early. Use them with simple traditional board games, each child having to solve a card before they can take a turn. Use them as a start of the day activity. Ideal for straight after play to help the children focus when they come in. They can be taken home as homework. This resources allows them to draw pictures and add speech bubbles to create their own comics on various topics. they could also be used as a template to create worksheets. You will receive two PDF files - each has 25 templates. One has the templates in portrait mode the other in landscape. These sheets would be perfect for creating your our worksheets, resources and projects. Included are examples of speech bubbles and noise bubbles the children could use in their comics. A fun maths activity to practice symmetry by drawing and colouring these Christmas images. This fun activity includes 5 Christmas images, each with three levels of difficulty. Difficulty Level 1 - has the completed drawing with the line of symmetry down the middle and the children are asked to colour the image symmetrically. Difficulty Level 2 - has half of the image on one side , with the other half partially drawn. The children have to complete the drawing and colour in symmetrically. Difficulty Level 3 - has just half the image drawn and the children need to complete and colour the other half symmetrically. Welcome to our Goodeyedeers e-book all about using haiku in your classroom. We want to share with you a number of fun ways that you can use haiku with your children to help them reinforce different literacy skills. We will begin by explaining where haiku poetry originates and how it is set out. Then we are going to explore a number of different and fun ways you can use haiku. These will include: Haiku and Word Definitions - from your chosen word list look up the definitions of the words in the dictionary and use these to write a haiku. Haiku and Word Meanings - children write haiku to show they understand the meaning of words from their word list. Haiku and Synonyms and Antonyms - use a thesaurus, then refine your word choices to fit the haiku form. Haiku and Semi-Colons - a chance to practise using semi-colons. Haiku and Dinosaurs - can you get a set of facts paraphrased into just 17 syllables? Haiku and Lists - any list at all – football teams, dinosaurs, weather, car makes, foods – so long as you can fit them into the haiku form. Haiku and Rhyming - this doesn’t usually happen with haiku - but it is fun to give it a try. Haiku and Alliteration - we start with some simple alliteration and finish by creating haiku tongue twisters.
