Back to School Expectations assembly

(0)
Back to School Expectations assembly for secondary students. Focusing on effort; respecting others; being organised and following the rules for a great and progressive school year. The theme is: It is a new school year! And a chance to make a difference… The 5 expectations from staff to pupils go into detail, but are outlined as: Put in 100% effort - always give it a go Be a keen and proactive student Respect and help others Be prepared & organised Follow and respect the rules Discussing expectations helps pupils understand how the effort they put into their work will benefit them in the present and future. It also helps pupils develop a growth-mindset, establishing the positive belief that they can improve by learning from their mistakes and working hard. The presentation could be used in tutor/form time sessions, or for a whole school or year assembly. It is ideal to show young people what expectations that staff have on them to thrive and contribute to their own and the school’s success. The secondary assembly also reflects on what expectations pupils should have of staff, as well as using a video as guidance. The presentation asks why bother being a model student? And also how getting your dream job is more than just qualifications - a lot is about effort (using a famous YouTuber and Jeremy Clarkson as examples). The PowerPoint can be adjusted according to your needs, for example removing the ‘back to school’ element if it is midway through the academic year.
