Using a Christmas Carol to teach sentence types for descriptive writing
A lesson aimed at getting students to be more conscious of the sentences types they use in their descriptive writing. Images from A Christmas Carol are used as the stimulus for the descriptive writing. After each task, students complete extension tasks to review their combination of sentence types.
Benjamin Animal Farm Analysis
A full lesson analysing the character of Old Benjamin in Animal Farm.
The PowerPoint/pdf includes the following:
3 question starter with detailed answers on slide 2.
Then student attempt to explain 6 key quotations before comparing their explanations to the teacher explanations.
Students are then given a model paragraph and asked to write their own paragraph analysing Benjamin.
The included writing frame is optional for weaker students.

Eine Kleine Nachtmusik Eduqas Revision Sheets
A pack of 3 sheets which describe each section of the Eduqas GCSE Set Work Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. All features of the set works are included so students can annotate their scores. There is also a short test (with answers) to be completed after each sheet is completed so you can test their understanding.
Each sheet has graded success criteria. These sheets can work well for revision, flip learning or homework activities.

A complete resource to introduce and teach a full analysis of the Eduqas AoS1 set work for first examination 2022 ‘Bach’s Badinerie’.
There are two lessons which introduce the set work ‘Bach’s Badinerie’ by giving an understanding of Baroque music, the composer, instrumentation and the larger suite Badinerie is taken from.
This leads into a full analysis of section A (and a summary) and section B (and a summary).
All resources have graded success criteria for each task and are therefore fully differentiated. The worksheets ensure students annotate their scores with all necessary information and are differentiated according to target grade.
Homework ideas are provided as well as criteria for any performing of the piece you may wish to do.

A highly detailed 31 slide lesson or series of lessons focused on challenging students to develop their own critical stance about Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire. Roger Lord of the Flies
Revision sheet on the character of Roger in Lord of the Flies. Roger is the only main character who has not yet come up on an exam question for AQA. Could 2024 be Roger’s year?
If so, this revision sheet will help prepare for this possibility. It contains detailed analysis of 8 key Roger quotations. The analysis is aimed at students aiming for grades 8-9. Ideas outside of the text such as references to Freud’s id and defence mechanisms along with Himmler are used to help meet the criteria for A03.
