Gross, Gory & Totally Yuck: 10-Minute Activities for Quick Finishers

(0)
Kids love gory stories. It’s no secret. And History is full of them! With this in mind, the eight stories comprising this resource have been hand-picked from the previous three years of HistoriCool Magazine as the most disgusting, gross and grisly articles to have graced its pages... Designed to be printed back-to-back, assign a story to a student who has finished their classwork ahead of their peers. The 200-250 word articles are quick and fun to read (and totally gory, did we mention that?) After reading the story, students fill in the worksheet on the reverse, which asks them to assess the grossness of the text, and write a creative (and suitably yuck) response to a prompt. Then, students can flip back over and attack the cartoon with coloured pencils. Each sheet gives teachers 10 minutes of much-needed reprieve to dedicate to students still requiring attention. Not only do these sheets give quick-finishers an engaging way to use their spare time, but they’ll be itching to share the story - in all its revolting glory - with their friends! This resource is delivered as a PDF in A4 size.
