It covers all of the 4.1 Cell Biology specification (4.1.1.1 to 4.1.1.5) I have covered eukaryotes, prokaryotes, animal cells, plant cells, specialised cells, cell differentiation, and microscopy. I have explained about magnification calculations and have covered all aspects of this stage of the specification. Label an animal and plant cell work sheet. Assessment sheet for cells. Hope it is beneficial to other teachers having to juggle 2 different specs for yr9/10 and the old spec for yr 11.

This 21 slide ppt covers the new AQA GCSE syllabus. It covers components of blood, blood vessels, structure of the heart, artificial hearts and blood groups (explaining why blood clots if given the wrong blood group). Used for revision session with my Yr10 and it worked very well.

This was made for my students covering the triple biology. It covers diffusion revision, osmosis theory, osmosis practicals, osmosis in animal and plant cells, sports drink and the controversy, exchange surfaces, including structure of lungs, breathing, alveoli, plant cells, and villi in the gut. This power point was made for my double award/foundation students to try and explain as concisely as possible about drug testing procedures and why they are important. It starts by telling the story of thalidomide and then goes into why it led to better testing conditions, what they are and the procedures for human testing, using placebos and blind trials. Diagrams of neurones to label, and two revision sheets to aid consolidation (could be adjusted to be made into help sheets/ fill in gaps/ label diagram etc)

GCSE Physics - 3 ppts on moments, hookes law and acceleration. Basic ppts that I used with all abilities to help them comprehend the basics on these 3 physics principles. Foundation/ SEN groups found them easy to access and it covers the main key points.

This 20 slide ppt covers the GCSE AQA physics syllabus for forces, gravity, Newtons 1st and 2nd laws and terminal velocity. As you use the ppt you have a number of activities as you go along to help students consolidate learning and aid understanding, such as with the types of calculation they are expected to know. This power point should be accessible for all levels with the teacher only using the parts appropriate. Terminal velocity section has a worksheet to help students and is a nice class activity. These 14 work sheets cover the following part of the F215 OCR Biology A2 syllabus. The sheets can be used as starters, plenary at the end of the unit or for revision purposes. The sheets cover the following: Biofermenter structure and uses Batch and continuous processes Primary and Secondary metabolites (Insulin and penicillin included) Typical microorganism growth curve with diagrams and students to fill in phases. Finishes with enzymes and enzyme immobilisation techniques. Artificial selection (modern cow and modern wheat) Cloning in animals and plants (runners, root suckers (elm trees), bulbs, tubers, cuttings, grafting, tissue culture, finishing with reproductive and non-reproductive cloning of animals (nuclear transfer / embryo splitting) I used this with some struggling students and they loved them. The ultrasound 7 w/sheets cover what ultrasounds are, how they work, examples of uses in medicine (kidney stones/ foetal checks), how to work out distance between boundaries (using example questions), differences between x-ray, CT scans and ultrasounds. It finishes with 10 questions for the students to consolidate what they have learned. Made these sheets specifically for revision with higher tier students (turned into a little A5 revision booklet). You could set it as a home work booklet. I also used the sheets with lower ability/ struggling students to help consolidate the main scientific information they need. They liked the sheets because they were easy to understand and easy to access the scientific material. Magnets and electromagnets (2 sheets) - nice mind map on magnets and a quick fill in sheet after they have completed the work. Great for class activity as a starter, plenary, home work, or as a revision card. Even used with top set KS3 who loved it. Light and sound help w/sheets to help consolidate information from lessons. (4 sheets)

These 9 worksheets are made for revision, starters, plenary or home works. I have used them as class activities where an able student helps the understanding of a struggling student. They work well and are good for revision cards in students notes. Can be used as A4 or A3. There are 7 worksheets for digestion and absorption, covering key scientific ideas. There are 2 ELISA sheets which can be used apart or together.

These quick revision sheets can be used as class activities, revision tools, home works, starters or as a plenary. The sheets include describing blood vessels, labelling the heart, explaining the cardiac cycle and the pressure/ volume graph. Hope it is helpful to give students a starting base for revision or test practice.
