This was a powerpoint, information sheet and a task given out at a 30minute session with parents and pupils at the start of the new 9-1 GCSE (AQA geography).
Parents appreciated the talk and to see the task - Our main problem here is we are an upper school so only get pupils in year 9; Skills are our main focus.
A simple Julia Strong idea for literacy, can be used at the start of a topic and then revisited at the end of a topic to show progress.
Or used within a lesson if there is a significant number of new key terms.

Simply sit a child in front of your whiteboard facing the class, pupils in the class give clues to the word on the board. maximum of three clues and guesses.
