I use speed drills to increase students vocabulary knowledge. I give students a specific amount of time (e.g. 1 minute) and students work through the questions putting in a single vocab word. Then give the answers and they mark how many they got correct. At the end of the lesson/next lesson I will then get them to do it again, hence why there are 2 tables of the same questions (could print back to back). They then fill in their improvement score.
Pupils love this as it involves competition between pupils and they see improvement in their own knowledge too.
