Addition and Subtraction to 10: Math Task Cards - Exercise Scoot!

Do your kids need some extra practice with addition and subtraction to 10? Are they tired of worksheets? Then Exercise Scoot is just what you need! Scoot! is a fun activity where students will travel from station to station or desk to desk to solve problems. It is a great activity to get students up and moving, while still practicing on academic skills. This one is EXTRA special because it includes EXERCISE! Give each student a recording sheet. Students will start at their own desks (or an assigned spot) and answer the problem on their task card, writing the answer in the corresponding box on the recording sheet. When students are finished, the teacher will say, “Scoot!” and students will move onto the next desk or station. They will continue to answer problems and move around the room until they get back to their own starting point. This set includes two versions (each in color and black and white depending on your preference). Kids just add and fill in the answers. You can use the picture set to start, then the set without pictures. you can also trade some cards so you have a mixed set. (Some with pictures and some without.) For the exercise cards - I did not put a number to the exercise task. You can stipulate the number of each exercise at the beginning of the game depending on the day. For added challenge, have them count by fives or tens to 50 or 100. It's always great to get math and LA in the same game! Scoot! games can also be used as task cards at a center! Thanks for looking! Your kids will love these task cards that allow them to read with their silly voices. The phrases on the cards come from Dr. Edward Fry's Instant Word List (high frequency words). According to Fry, the first 300 words in the list represent about 67% of all the words students encounter in their reading. There are 3 sets here: Set #1 - Fry's first 100 words Set #2 - Fry's second 100 words Set #3 - Fry's third 100 words There are 408 cards in all. (It includes a set of blanks for each level so that you can make your own sentences.) The cards are numbered and color-coded for differentiation. All you have to do is print and laminate. Alphabet Books A-Z Readers - Letter Sounds

(0)
Here is a MONEY-SAVING bundle of my emergent readers for the entire alphabet. Your kids will practice letter sounds and reading together. There are 31 books in all. 21 for the consonants, and 2 for each of the vowels (one for the long and one for the short sound of each vowel.) These books include predictable text and lots of sight word practice. The last page of each book is designed so that your students can write/illustrate their own page for the letter sound. There is a rhythm to all of the alphabet books. For example: The H book (which is free in this preview) starts with H, H, h, h, h. Hammer, hammer, hammer. The student would read the letter twice, say the sound 3 times, and then the word 3 times. Then the next page includes the word in a sentence. Great practice for letter sounds AND sight word reading!
