This is the planning and Notebook presentation for a 2 week writing plan using the traditional tale of Hansel and Gretel. It includes differentiation opportunities and learning objectives. The first week is learning the story through talking and actions and sequencing. The second week is a carousel of 5 activities which could be changed to one whole class activity each day if carousels aren’t appropriate.

A practise reading comprehension for able readers in KS1 with a short extract from The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle. A short extract from text followed by questions with a space to write answers. Across 2 pages.

Two pages of missing number fluency questions. One consists of 10 addition and subtraction questions. The other one is multiplication and division questions.

This is a set of 11 sentences that are about the game, ‘Minecraft’. There are wrongly spelled words to correct and pronouns to identify. These were originally used to help a child with special needs who was finding some spellings and the concept of pronouns tricky. He really enjoyed and engaged with the activity so I thought I would share it. I have highlighted the spellings to be corrected in bold but you could take them off of bold to make the activity a bit more difficult. I have made one sheet for only correcting spellings and another for correcting spellings and finding the pronouns. Answers are included - so the children can self mark and save you time!

This is a Power Point that encourages children to partition and read numbers as they see them on the screen. The teacher models how to read two digit numbers and then the children say 2 digit numbers as they see them on the Power Point. The teacher then models how to read three digit numbers and the children say three digit numbers as they see them on the Power Point.

Three differentiated home learning sheets to help children make amounts in coins. The below expected sheet includes making amounts below 10p. The working at expected levels sheet asks children to recognise all coins and then make amounts to 10p. The above expected sheet asks children to make amounts to 20p.
