Checkout all our resources at our SHOP! A single A4 Homework sheet covering an aspect of the Edexcel GCSE Combined Science Course. The sheets are designed to be written on by the students. The teacher can either take them in to mark, or the students can mark them themselves using the online mark scheme (see below). There are weblinks on the homework sheets. These are in the form of google shortened URLs (which can just be typed into a browser) and QR Codes which can be scanned by most phones with the correct app. Some of these do link to video sites such as YouTube. Please let us know immediately if you find a broken link, and we will fix the sheet as soon as possible. (made.by@stmaryleboneschool.com) How do we use these at St Marylebone School? Depending on the class, we make parts of the sheet compulsory and part optional. This adds a level of self-differentiation and choice to a homework, allows teacher to praise and notice those students who are actively pushing themselves in the subject, and allows us to always provide extra/extension information about a particular topic. Some of our classes can be trusted to complete the sheets, then self-mark using the online mark-schemes. Others cannot! Our homework sheets have the following features: A checklist revision reminder. The grey box encourages students to make revision resources as they go along. Satellite questions. Smaller, easier questions remind students of the skills and knowledge they will need to answer the Big Question. Big Question. A consolidation question appears in the centre of the sheet. Extra Section. To take the student further into the topic. Review Section. A link to some material the students should have previously studied, as a reminder. Check Section. A link to an online mark-scheme. This can be easily snipped off if your students cannot be trusted to self-mark! ‘Done’ Checkboxes - for the completionist students.
