Bella Montessori Materials

Hello! And thank you for visiting my shop. I'm an AMI trained Montessori teacher with over 35 years of classroom experience. I recently retired and turned my attention to making materials. I've made materials for my friends and myself for many years and now I have the time, I've discovered how much I really enjoy it! My materials tend to be traditional, based on my training, easy to make and use. But I do occasionally like to play around with cute ideas for ECE and childcare.

Describing Words / Adjectives Matching Game

(0)
Describing Word / Adjective Matching Game Children seem to have difficulty recognizing the function of the describing words. It’s often hard for them to recognize a describing word in a phrase. This work will give them plenty of practice with describing words. Children read a control card featuring a picture of a noun, e.g. “cat.” Below the picture are four words describing the cat, “striped, soft, adorable, small.” They then find the picture of the noun and place it at the top of the rug. They then read the loose labels with the describing words and matches the correct ones. Self-correcting with the control card. What you receive: 12 Sets of control cards matching pictures loose labels Thanks for stopping by. Mary

I made these larger sized booklets to help my students be more successful when working with the Subtraction Strip Board. Most of the booklets or pages I found were a little too small. The younger writers would become “lost” on the page and became frustrated when recording their answers. Making the work pages larger worked much better for us. The pages measure around 3 1/2" by 7 1/2". Gray lined spaces show where to record the answers. I hope you find these helpful and thanks so much for checking out my work! Counting From Any Number Up to 10

A very long product name! I have been looking at how Montessori meets the Kindergarten Common Core guidelines. This is the first of what will be a series of short writings on how we do this. It will include suggestions for variations and extensions with the Montessori mathematics materials. In this first set, we look at the following guidelines : K.CC.1 Count to 100 by ones and by tens. K.CC.2 Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1). K.CC.4 Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality. K.CC.4a When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object. K.CC.4c Understand that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger. I have focused on the one to ten series in particular, including instructions for several lessons you can present to support this work. Finally, I have made a game that can be played using several sets of the colored bead stair. Children will place the printed numerals in order following random numbers zero to nine. Thanks so much for stopping by! If you’re interested in following this exploration, become a follower by clicking on the green star by the Bella Montessori logo and you will receive notices when I put up new works. Mary

I'm very excited about this new work! I had a version of this that I made for my own classroom a very long time ago, but I wish I was in the classroom now so that I could use this! Included are 54 cards of the Presidents with the number of their presidency and name beneath their picture. The cards are placed in order on "picture frame" mats included, beginning with just a few. I've also included instructions on making and presenting this material. I hope you have as much fun using this as I had making it.
