Male & Female Animal Names

Male & Female Animal Names

My Male & Female Animals Names actually uses a familiar 3-part card approach to introducing the nomenclature in a way that is very familiar to the young Montessori reader. They do enjoy the visual images quite a lot, so it seems to be a logical first step before the traditional presentation of masculine and feminine. (Which I do intend to get to someday! So many ideas, so little time!) Here is a variety of 20 animals that children will enjoy looking at, talking about and learning new names…some of which are sure to give the giggles. I made enough examples that you should be able to easily make several rotations of the materials over time. To make, just print on card stock, cut and laminate if you wish. Thanks so much for considering my work! Mary

These definition cards are the next step in reading following success with the 3-Part volcano cards. Set one - a full definition card with the nomenclature in red a second card, but with the nomenclature cut off the nomenclature label to match. Set two - a control card with the full definition, nomenclature in red the definitions are cut into three pieces for the children to match together.
