This is a template i made for a ‘getting to know you’ activity after gaining inspiration on pinterest! I found it really effective for stimulating discussion and it really helped in encourgaing pupils to share what they enjoy learning about and what they would like to learn with me.
This bookmark can be provided as an encouragement to keep note of any interesting/new vocabulary pupils come across in their reading . This can also help to encourage them to use strategies to find out the meaning of tricky words, such as reading on, reading back, asking a friend or checking a dictionary. I think it would be great to keep a collection of these at the class library where pupils can select a new one as they select a new book!
A resource i made to help with addition within 10, using a number line for support - i was initially inspired by a game i found on Pinterest and adapted it to suit the pupils and our learning :) Each pupil has a carrot number line with the bunnies spread out in the middle of the table, face down. Pupils take it in turns to select a bunny and then can use their number line to help work out the answer to the sum to cover the correct carrot . If the sum equals an answer they have already covered, they put the bunny back. If a pupil selects a BANG! bunny, all of their bunnies go back to the middle and they need to start again! The pupil with all of their carrots covered first is the winner!
