Many times teachers struggle to find the right words to describe pupils and their progress. This free resource is a bank of comments to help you out when writing your end of term reports. The comments focus on the areas of: Quality of Work and Independence & Responsibility. Let me know if it helps.

Would You Rather Christmas Edition

This is a fun PowerPoint that can be used any time close to Christmas to promote discussion about whacky Christmas choices. It can be used for online teaching as well as in the classroom. “Would You Rather…” questions can help pupils develop life skills such as: critical thinking, being respectful, discussing, debate as well as communicating thoughts and ideas. A great, fun activity for primary school, both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

The Rainforest Lesson 1

In this first lesson, children are introduced to the book ‘The Great Kapok Tree’. For the activity, the powerpoint needs to be used in conjunction with the text from the book. The children need to read it and draw and label all the animals mentioned in the appropriate rainforest layers. Rainforest stories, explore the issues confronting indigenous peoples and the environment modified from the Hamilton Trus Unit: Stories that Raise Issues. This is a lesson from a unit of work but can be used as a lesson on its own.
Boarding and Landing Card Pass

Boarding and Landing Card Pass

(1)
This is my take on the boarding and landing card passes, an idea found in the book Talk-Less Teaching: Practice, Participation and Progress written by Isabella Wallace and Leah Kireman. It is in an editable format so you can adapt it for your needs. I have also uploaded a pdf version for those of you who would like to use it as it is. Boarding passes are used at the start of the lesson to gage prior learning and children’s understanding of what is to come. The landing pass is used at the end of the lesson to get an insight into children’s current learning and to help with future planning and intervetion. A great AfL strategy that can be used in all lessons.
Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger Hunt

A Scavenger Hunt is a fun game you can play with your pupils. You need to split your class into teams and they have 1 minute to hunt something down, return to their seats and show you. This game worked during remote teaching really well as well. It can be modified and played with all year groups.
