Each card has 6 spellings on it taken from the year 1 common exception words list (including days of the week and numbers to 20). for a weekly test. Test your children each week on the spellings on the card and only move them onto the next card when they can spell between 4 and 6 of the words. Add the 1 or 2 words they got wrong onto the next card only moving children on when they can spell the words off the card correctly.

Letters and Sounds - Phase 5 - Pack 2/3 (Days 7-12) all the new sounds from phase 5. This pack will allow you to teach each sound in an interactive and fun way. The presentations are to be used alongside the worksheets - first you practise then apply (reading and writing the sound in words and sentences). Worksheets and a powerpoint for each sound specifically designed for phase 5. The all you need pack for teaching phase 5 sounds. Days 7-12 NEW - extra using and applying resources.

Year 1 - The Weather (Non-Chronological Report) This unit worked really well with my class and the children (especially the boys) loved writing instructions for Bee-bot and how to draw an owl. Differentiated tasks and helpful presentations, notebooks and unit plan to help deliver the unit.

Year 1 - My First Day at School (key skill - capital letters). The unit of work is based on the book by Janet Ahlberg and Allan Ahlberg ‘Starting School’. It includes display headings and posters. There are a series of lessons which are differentiated for a range of abilities. The key skill focuses on using capital letters.
