Music Theory Resource and Ear Training - Unit 2

Music Theory Resource and Ear Training - Unit 2

Unit 2 of 17 UNITS of material that cover diatonic and chromatic theory. The intent and variety of “textures” used relates “theory” to musical style, not just the nuts and bolts of rules for voice-leading, doubling, resolution, etc. While most new material is introduced in chorale texture, examples are included that allow for in-class examination of historical music in the same style: - Chorale: aka J. S. Bach (four-part choral or hymn style) - Waltz: "oompah-pah or boom-chick" style, any meter - Broken: Alberti bass or arpeggiation in any configuration - Blocked: in keyboard style as opposed to "chorale"; essentially homogeneous movement, with minimal deviation Unit 2 contains 49 workable examples; ear training worksheets relating to the examples in the music theory Units; instructions and description; and 2010 and 2014 finale files
