I support social mobility in schools, multi academy trusts and teaching alliances with inspirational workshops in KS2, 3 and colleges. I have combined my ten years teaching with over five years’ experience on the hit Channel Four show Gogglebox to engage students in a unique and exciting way. My main focus is on motivating disadvantaged students which includes but isn’t limited to Pupil Premium, Pre NEET, NCOP and alternative provision students.

The creator of the “Let’s Pitch It” workshop and competition, Baasit Siddiqui is an experience teacher and can be seen on Channel 4 four’s award winning show “Gogglebox”. Created to support Pupil Premium, pre NEET, NCOP students. As the key focus is developing transferable skills, this competition is designed to motivate and inspire a variety of students from later years KS2, KS3 and KS5 vocational students in convential schools and alternative provision. Created by Baasit Siddiqui from Channel Four’s Gogglebox. Baasit has combined his ten years of teaching and over five years of experience and connections to the television industry to provide a unique, inspiring and exciting enrichment opportunity. Created for, the “Let’s Pitch It” workshop allows students to use and develop a whole host of transferable skills to research, plan, present and pitch an idea for a television show or media concept. Each participant in this workshop gets the chance for their idea to be seen and judged by the creator of Gogglebox, with the chance for the winning idea to win a trip to London, spending vouchers and a whole host of computer science resources for their school. The FULL digital package includes lessons on: Researching and planning a pitch, effective presentation skills, script writing, branding, evaluation of the television concept, the use of math’s in the television industry, the importance of democracy and careers in the television industry. The transferable skills this workshop aims to develop includes: • Team work • Collaboration • Communication • Presentation • Leadership • Research • Planning • Evaluating • Literacy • Math’s • British Values The scheme of work is centred around the television industry with video resources presented by a well-known television personality. This and the competition element provides a fantastic and engaging hook which has proven to get a huge variety of students invested in the programme. Disclaimer – In order to ensure the school which this package is bought for is part of the National Competition.
