LKS2 Literacy. The Victorians. Week 2 - Information Texts Introductions

(0)
Week 2 of a 9 week run up to Christmas scheme of work based on the topic ‘The Victorians’ for year 3 and 4 LKS2. One whole weeks worth of planning and resources including worksheets and SmartNotebook. This follows on from the first week of this unit based on Oliver Twist. This week moves onto looking at non fiction texts, specifically information texts. The scheme of work plans to spend 3 weeks on information texts with this initial week focusing on children identifying features and writing an introduction for an information text. As will of my literacy units, each week starts with a reading comprehension linked to the topic and text type and ends with a extended piece of writing. All differentiated and ready to go. **This weeks planning has been based on the information text booklet ‘Bleak Streets: Victorian London Exposed’ By Jill Powell. You will need at least one copy of this book for the initial children’s comprehension lesson. It is no longer in print but many schools purchased class packs of this A5 size books so they are worth looking for in your school library. **
