Scientific Lines of Enquiry - bank of activities for years 1 to 6. This resource is designed to assist educators in the teaching of science. It is a bank of lessons / activities which give each year group the opportunity to develop their enquiry skills within the teaching curriculum. The lines of enquiry are vital in creating curious, intrigued and engaged learners. Children must be able to research, find patterns, observe things over time, classify and identify and be able to create fair tests to deepen their knowledge of subjects. There are lessons / activities from years 1 to 6 to ensure no lines of enquiry are being neglected.
This resource is aimed at Y3 and Y4. Each document contains a quiz for each science unit for that year group. This quiz is designed to be a quick and informative assessment - not the only assessment. Each quiz should take no longer than 10 minutes and they are A5 size so they can be easily stuck into a work book.
Place Value and Addition & Subtraction Revision Starter Activities/Morning Activities This resource can be used at the beginning of a maths lesson as a starter or the beginning of your day as a morning task. The resource is designed to revise place value and addition and subtraction from AUT 1 using fluency, reasoning and problem solving questions. The resource is primarily based on year 4 objectives but could be used for year 5/6 or high achieving year 3’s. The resource has 2 weeks worth of slides followed by a slide with answers on for every day.
Addition/Subtraction and Measurement/Perimeter Revision Activities This resource can be used as a morning activity when children first arrive at school or as a starter activity for a maths lesson. There are 2 weeks worth of slides which revise addition and subtraction objectives as well as measurement and perimeter objectives using fluency, reasoning and problem solving activities. The activities are designed primarily for year 4 children but can be used for years 5 and 6 as well as high achieving year 3 children.
