#### Equivalent Representations 1

(1)
All the numbers in each row of the table are different representations of the same value. The student needs to complete the missing parts of the table with the equivalent representation. Requires the student to: Practice using specific buttons on the calculator to change between different representations of the same value. Student is required to use their rounding skills, especially for the percentage column, as this must be given to three significant figures.

#### Don't Press SD

(1)
A task which encourages students not to immediately press SD after a calculation when the answer looks a bit scary. Students are told not to press the SD button and not to give a approximate decimal answer except when given by the calculator itself. In this task there is an addition grid and a multiplication grid containing a combination of surds, fractions, indices and a trigonometric function. Students should input them into the calculator as presented and then write the first answer the calculator gives in the cross-section of the grid. Perfect as a high end GCSE task, a GCSE-A-Level Mathematics bridging task or as an A-Level consolidation task for students who are maybe still uncomfortable about giving or getting exact answers.
