It is a huge pleasure to invite schools to participate in the second stage of the #lionopera project. Olsen Verlag is partnering with four organisations to bring even more value to schools through this project. The Born Free Foundation, The Donkey Sanctuary and LionAid have collaborated with us to produce these teaching resources about animals, lions, donkeys and humans which tie in with Key Stage 2 science curriculum, so pupils can learn more about these wonderful animals who play a central role in the operas but who face such terrible threats today. With arts education coming under increasing pressure, we need to find imaginative new ways of giving youngsters high quality musical and theatrical experiences, which is why we are so delighted to offer this opportunity to schools free of charge. The resource files here are offered in pdf format to decrease their size, but a Powerpoint version of the main presentations is available on request. LO1; What are animals for? An exploration of why animals exist and their use by humans as pets, working animals and farmed animals, in comparison to the needs of wild animals and the pressures they are under. LO2; Lions, donkeys and humans A visual comparison of lions, donkeys and humans; their needs, body systems, senses and emotions. The resource files are; #lionopera brochure; explaining about about the lionopera and how to get involved LO1; What are animals for ? Classroom presentation LO1; What are animals for ?
