A week long unit based on the book Grace for President. This unit includes 5 worksheets/activity ideas. Including the following: Prediction worksheet: Use this before and after reading the story for the first time. Venn Diagram: Compare and contrast grace for president and duck for president by Doreen Cronin. Candidate poster: have students create a poster for which candidate they support - Grace or her opponent or even duck. Have them write reasons they think people should vote for their candidate. I voted “stickers”: Hold a classroom election and pass out these stickers! Journal Entry: have students write about their thoughts. Can also be used as a pre-writing organizer.
