Original French Story for KS2 & KS3 pupils ‘Valentine Plonge Dans L’Eau’ & complete resource pack.

‘Valentine plonge dans l’eau’ is a spin off of our English story ‘Valentine takes the plunge.’ Our main character, Valentine, a loveable dragon-like character overcomes his worst fear by learning from his friends. Pupils will love our fun-filled characters (known as bodz) in our colourful land full of intrigue and adventure; know as The World of Whyse (Le Monde De Whyse) as well as the accompanying resource pack. This latest linguistic approach through story telling immerses pupils into the language, which helps to learn words and phrases by amalgamating them with characters and illustration in our imaginary world. As every word and every phrase appears in context, pupils will pick up on the grammar without reflecting on the rules, just as they did when learning their mother tongue. In fact over time, pupils will simply get used to how grammar works. Stories are a universal way of teaching pupils in their native language and are equally effective when learning a new one. There are huge advantages to using this method for language learning. It is motivational, builds confidence, and improves literacy skills. Furthermore all of our stories come with powerful moral messages and values and instil important lessons for learning. This is not only an important language-learning tool, but also covers areas of the wider curriculum such as PSHE, citizenship, growth mindset, ethics, assembly messages and mindfulness. The story is on a PowerPoint and the English translation is on the notes section of each slide. Furthermore there is an English and French document of the story too for the teacher’s use. The lengthy accompanying resource pack has a wide range of activities, many of which are differentiated as well as differentiated worksheets. Each worksheet booklet has 7 pages of activities.
