These reterival practise question will help improve the retnetion and cognitive skills of your students. Retrieval practise is a great tool for revision as is requires students to use their long term memory. This lines up with national curriculum requirements and allows students to revise key aspects of their classwork. I have used examples from the AQA exam board.

This resource has a powerpoint on speeches and a copt of Greta Thunbergs speech to give to students to annotate. This is an introduction to speeches and their impact on auidences. This is in line with the national cirriculum and AQA exam board. This introduction to speeches will allow students to understand their purpose along improving their reading and writing skills. The English language paper 2 will ask a question on persausive/argumentative text so these resources are a great insight to how to tackle this particular skill. ● Learning new vocabulary, relating it explicitly to known vocabulary and understanding it with the help of context and dictionaries. ● making inferences and referring to evidence in the text ● knowing the purpose, audience for and context of the writing and drawing on this knowledge to support comprehension

Here is a poster displaying a paragraph sctrutre that is effective when analysing a peice of text. This is for PETAL. This would make a good focus point in a classroom highlighting how ytou should structure a parapgraph. This structuring technique is used in my school and I wanted to share it with you.
