I know it seems a bit cocky to put amazing in the title but this is one of my favorite lessons by far for a number of reasons...
It starts so simple with the explanation of the areas of the squares of each length of a right angle triangle...leading all the way through to some really tricky problem solving style questions in the differentiated activity.
All answers are available and all pupils can achieve...if they haven't seen pythagoras before or even if its a recap lesson.
I also love the fact that I don't show them the different between when we have to add or take away but the questions like that come up during the 1st activity and some pupils work it out but most get them wrong and then remember after the exposition why it can't be right.
Finally it is a combination of three teachers observations all merged into one! (All the best bits).
