Economics: All the lessons x 82 (Covers the OCR, Edexcel, IGCSE and A-Level syllabus)

This contains 82 whole lessons and resources to teach the different aspects of the entire Economics course. UPDATED! Also included is a two zip files with all the different worksheets and handouts of which there are LOTS! Most of the articles though are all available FREE in my shop under handouts. When I originally created the majority of the presentations/lessons was when I was teaching the Cambridge IGCSE and A -Level spec, and the book we used was by Moynihan and Titley, and was called the 'Complete Economics for Cambridge IGCSE and A-level'. However, I have taught the A-Level course since and it should cover the entire Edexcel A-Level syllabus and obviously the OCR GCSE course. I have used the PowerPoint slides to structure the lesson, specifically slides to prompt/force myself to ask those key questions at the right moments, slides to explain keywords with short and easy explanations, prompts for me the teacher when to use the different activities, games, handouts, articles etc... all lessons include answers, starters, plenary's and learning objectives . These resources have helped me as a teacher to be very organised, structured and stress-free... !! NOTE: As always rate and feedback. It is really helpful. However, please ask if something is missing and not rate my hard work and resources down if there is. Thank you!

Maths: Mini Tests / Assessments (x56) - all different topics with GCSE levels (excellent plenaries)

Maths: Mini Tests / Assessments (x56) - all different topics with GCSE levels (excellent plenaries)

This is 56 different mini tests or assessments with GCSE levelling. These were created for two specific reasons. Firstly because generic test packages are expensive and generally rubbish and full or mistakes. Secondly, students do not like to do long tests constantly and it is often a poor use of class/lesson time. These can also be excellent plenaries. These mini-tests are normally 5/6 quick questions that are designed to give a quick snapshot of understanding of a topic. They come with ANSWERS and students can mark themselves or each other in class. This relieves the pressure of constant marking and gives much more detailed feedback to teachers and students of strengths and weaknesses of different topics. As these are short and pupils can get instant feedback on their score they much much prefer them. These have been far more successful for me and has given me more valuable lesson time to teach and to work on progress. I still do longer assessments each term and tend to do one quick mini test every week. I have also included a spreadsheet with actual data of what the data might look like if you use them. However, how you choose to mark or collect the data can obviously vary. I would often use conditional formatting to highlight scores which were below average or to find outliers. The file is set up to find any pupil who is below one standard deviation from the average. I found this an excellent marker to spot pupils who struggled with a particular topic and thus receive an intervention session. Algebra: Collecting Like Terms and Simplifying Expressions (+ lots of resources)

This is a whole lesson on collecting like terms and simplifying expressions. It is very thorough and really helps pupils to get their heads around algebra and gives a very good foundation for further lessons on algebra. It importantly looks very clearly at the difference between adding and multiplying terms as well as vital keywords.

The PowerPoint contains:
a starter
lesson objectives
keywords and terminology
superb teaching and examples
embedded questions with answers
a plenary.

The lesson does have embedded questions, but I have added in 2 excellent worksheets that depending on the group might use in the lesson or as homework to reinforce learning. Also included are some Tarsia activities for those groups who prefer group activities. There is enough material here so that for bottom sets you might want to split the lesson into TWO or even three. However, for stronger groups it works well as one lesson.

NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more free and premium resources! Geometry: Angle Rules 5 - Interior and Exterior Angles (regular polygons) + resources

Geometry: Angle Rules 5 - Interior and Exterior Angles (regular polygons) + resources

This is the fifth in a 7 lesson series on different basic angle rules, which is designed for KS3, but I do use some of the lessons for weaker groups at KS4. Lesson 1 - Angles at a Point / Straight Line Lesson 2 - Angles in parallel lines Lesson 3 - Angles in triangles Lesson 4 - Interior and Exterior Angles (sum) Lesson 5 - Interior and Exterior Angles (regular polygons) Lesson 6 - Angle Problems Lesson 7 - Congruent and Similar Triangles I have found over the years, that teaching these lessons over more lessons than less pays dividends!! That it is often a subject skirted over quickly and then has to be retaught year after year. It is often a subject that even at KS4, pupils struggle over. To address this each of the lessons is very thorough on the different rules, with activities, handmade worksheets that are differentiated with trickier examples with answers, exam questions, starters and plenaries. I have spent a long time over the years developing lessons to help pupils progress in this area. You can buy this as a BUNDLE, which I highly recommend as a series/sequence of lessons. Number: Negatives 1 - Introduction and 4 Operations (+ LOTS of resources)

This is first lesson looking at negative numbers using the four different operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) and lots of different real-life contexts. 16 slides. Lesson 1: looks at negatives in real life and starts to build on some of the rules for negatives. It comes with a handout (good for differentiation within classes) and a worksheet with answers. It has excellent clear examples and teaching slides that are full of custom animation and everything you need including keywords, learning objectives, starter and plenary. It is designed for KS3, but in my experience, even top sets at KS4 often have issues with negatives. When I teach negatives to KS3, I thus look to teach it as thoroughly as possible and so for some groups, it will be 3 lessons or even 4. I have included plenty of worksheets and material.
