These Estimation games are fun for all ages! Split your class into 5 teams and display the question and picture on the interactive whiteboard. Play the timer and the teams will have 30 seconds to discuss their best estimate for that question. Then take each teams' estimate and reveal the answer. Closest team gets three points, second closest two points and third closest gets one point. Other teams get nothing! Past paper SATS questions that all require understanding of equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages. Finding a common denominator is required, along with converting fractions and decimals to percentages. Some questions require fractions to be placed in order of size and there are pie chart SATs questions where an understanding of the fraction or percentage of the pie chart helps to solve the problem.
