Right to a child discussion/group activity

Right to a child discussion/group activity

I use this by having students get into groups of 4. They then rotate the questions around the group and have 2-3 minutes to answer each question. The first person writes their response at the bottom and then folds over their response, the second person then writes their response above but cannot see the previous response. After the students have responded to all questions, they can compare and contrast their responses in their group. Suitable for GCSE and A-Level Philosophy and Ethics students.

Used originally for Theory of Knowledge in the IB Diploma - the learning objective is essentially for students to have the opportunity to think critically about their education system and the extent to which it is effectively preparing them for their life to come. Includes an activity linked to the TED Talk: Do schools Kill Creatively which is readily available via TED and youtube- this presentation would be a useful tutor time activity/ PSHE or Life Skills activity too.

'Snapshot in time' task for tutor teachers

This is useful for tutor teachers who want to get to know their tutor class at the start of the year! Students fill in favorite things and basic info about themselves and there is space for pictures to be added. This can help new tutors get to know their tutor class and it is great to revisit at the end of the school year too!
