BIDMAS Investigation - An easy to explain (but hard to complete) lesson.

(0)
The idea is to try and make all the numbers from 0 to 20 by using BIDMAS. The only number you are allowed to use is 4. You MUST use four lots of 4 in each equation (number sentence). You may not use any other numbers. If you want to find 0 you can use the following sum: (4 + 4) – (4 + 4) = 0 To find 3 you can use: (4 + 4 + 4) ÷ 4 = 3 This is a ready to go lesson that will take an hour+ depending on ability level. It also has a simple extension task.
