Reading Teacher

I have been a teaching assistant since 2012 and previous to this I worked as a nursery school assistant. I have worked with special needs children on a 1:1 basis and as a general classroom assistant. I will start with phonics resources but if anyone is looking for anything in particular please let me know and I will do my best to help.

Adverb Learning Grid

This is a versatile learning grid that I have created. The idea is that using the co-ordinates learners have a certain adverb that they need to use. This can be in a spoken or written sentence. The co-ordinates can be chosen by the roll of a dice, picking numbers out of a bag or pupil choice. A fun way to keep them engaged whilst making good use of adverbs. There are a couple of squares where students can choose their own adverb for added stretch and challenge. The grid can be displayed on a whiteboard or printed. Learners could work individually, in pairs or groups.

Mystery object game/quiz

A mystery object game/quiz. This powerpoint has twelve close up photographs of household objects and the aim is to guess what the object is. Each slide then reveals the object in another zoomed out photograph. A good end of term or tutor session game for students of most ages.

Mystery Object Game/Quiz Number 2

My first mystery object game/quiz is proving popular so I thought I would make another one. This game/quiz contains 16 brand new photographs of household objects to guess. I have designed this powerpoint slightly differently to the first one, first there are the 16 zoomed in photographs, each has their own slide. Then there are answer slides which have the zoomed in and zoomed out photos together on a slide with the answer revealed by the click of the mouse or tap of the space bar. This add the versatility of being able to show all the photographs first and then all the answers or show each answer as you go along. Suitable for most ages and abilities. Great for end of term or tutor time.
