Market Research - Battle of the Brands

(0)
A basic Business Studies lesson activity for the topic of Marketing. I used the Powerpoint activity to get them thinking about the differences between known-named brands and own-named brands. You can use the images that I’ve taken from Google to hand out as a discussion starter to see what differences in packaging students notice also. The questionnaire sheet (with 3 copies per page) was used for a blind taste-testing session where we compared Haribo sweets to local shop versions of the same sweets to see if students could distinguish between them… as well as seeing if they liked the popular ones of the cheaper alternatives! The results were very interesting! Enjoy!

Brain Gym Activity

After printing out the sheets in colour, you have a quick 2-3min activity for warming up the brains of your audience. Holding the sheets behind your back, show one sheet at a time asking your audience (students or a fun staff room teaser) to call out what colour the word is written in. NOTE: If they call out the word that is written down they are wrong. :)
