English Paper Puppet Story: Easter Egg Hunt

(0)
A simple story with 9 paper puppets for pupils to cut out, colour and label. Pupils cut out, label and glue the puppets (option for teacher to use pre-coloured or black and white templates) Teacher reads the story. Pupils listen and each time they hear a character they place them on the scenery mat. The story tells them exactly where to position each paper puppet but the PowerPoint acts as a visual support if hey need it. Options to differentiate- suggestions given.

Mon dictionnaire français My French dictionary

Mon dictionnaire français My French dictionary

(1)
A printable dictionary for your pupils to use as a reference but more importantly to add to throughout the year as they study new topics and encounter new words. Each page has a section where I have written common words including nouns, verbs and adjectives and a lined section for pupils to note their own additions. There are also reference pages for the following topics containing short glossaries of the essential words: greetings, days, months, seasons, colours, school equipment. There is a spare page at the back that you could print multiple times should they need more space. I recommend using treasury tags to hold the dictionary pages together. This will allow the pupils the possibility of adding extra sheets and adding revision sheets as they revise the vocabulary. If teachers request it, I will make this resource available in black and white but it looks great printed in greyscale

Food and Drink Board Game Manger et Boire

Food and Drink Board Game Manger et Boire

(2)
A game board to practise nouns and simple sentences. Great to introduce food in a novel way- give them the board game and a dictionary and it is a really fun way to challenge them to learn food and drink nouns. Use it as follow up once you have introduced the voacb as it is an excellent way of practising speaking and listening skills. Other important features: pupil independence, pupil collaboration, challenge and competition. I always have 100% engagement when I give them a board game (I have others available). A rewarding way to differentiate- what better incentive to complete the task than to know you can play a game at the end! No need to cut anything- just print. A4 is fine, A3 is great. Add dice and counters. (I get pupils to use spare coins for counters and lots of them have dice roll app on their phones these days if you are struggling for these). Any feedback is always gratefully received and if you have any requests for future board games please send me a message.

Letter to Father Christmas in French
betsybelleteachbetsybelleteach

Letter to Father Christmas in French

(2)
A cute French letter to Father Christmas: pupils simply write their name and age and address and ask Father Christmas for 3 things. You could provide a list, get them to look up in dictionaries or draw/stick images depending on age group and ability. To save printing costs (and extend the length of the activity), opt to display the letters on the IWB and pupils copy the model letter, filling in the gaps.
Perfect Tense Board Game

Good extension task- why not print them off and stick them in a plastic wallet on the wall for pupils to come and play when finished main activity. Minimal prep: If you forget to bring dice pupils can play with a coin: move forward 2 spaces for heads, 1 space for tails. They can use a tiny scrap of paper for a counter.
