Cold War QR Code Tasks

10 Resources
A series of 10 "History Bookmarks". QR codes are built into each "bookmark" including video links. Challenges are already planned and cover each topic to a high level. Already differentiated with differing level tasks and stretch questions for extra challenge. I have planned them as homework for the scheme of work but equally a fantastic revision resource. Easily useable as a whole lesson per "bookmark" if resources allow. 10 topics Ideologies Yalta & Potsdam Soviet Expansion Truman Doctrine & Marshall Plan Berlin Blockade NATO, Warsaw Pact, Peaceful co-existence Hungarian Uprising Berlin Wall Cuban Missile Crisis Prague Spring Included is an instruction PowerPoint explaining how to use the QR Code Task. Hope you find it useful :)

Whole lesson built into/ guided through powerpoint Creative code breaker starter Whole class, teacher led source analysis that builds into later assessment. Information collection from information displayed around the room (attached in downloads.) Keywords discussed and defined. Teacher led source analysis of a second source 3 step assessment (looks great for any marking scrutiny without teacher workload) - Students get a limited time with the question and own knowledge only - Limited time with notes -Limited time with mark scheme/ peer assessment advice Extension tasks. Use of plickers if able (very interactive and engaging task - google the app). Please leave a review if you like it :)

The Cannon - Change in Warfare

A whole lesson as part of a KS3 Change in Warfare unit. The lesson is completely ready to go. Interactive and engaging. Discussion of a source as a starter. Brief contextual overview Group work to become experts on 1 of 3 case studies of early cannon use. (I have designed the task to produce a news report but could be altered to be an ask the expert task very easily. Information sheets are built into the powerpoint.) Students give their news reports whilst the class collect information about each in a table. Assessment comes in the form of a PEEL paragraph with useful sentence starters. Hope you enjoy :)

Weimar & Nazi Germany - Codenames Game - Revision Game

A version of the amazing board game ‘Codenames’. If you haven’t played the game before see the video here with rules on how to play - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQVHkl8oQEU&t=134s - it’s very simple, fun and addictive. You’ll find yourself playing as well! 106 key terms, people, events and statistics that cover the course from 1918-1945. All board pieces are well designed and ready to be used after printing and cutting. Print on card and you have a really great revision game that is endlessly fun but also a very strong revision/knowledge recall activity. A double lesson could disappear without even realising in all the fun! Enjoy!

A well designed, engaging and interactive lesson! The lesson: Quick quiz (with answers) to test prior understanding 10 minute youtube video with ‘watching notes’ activity to give an intro and overview. Teacher led overview with notes for reference Interactive ‘Paper People’ task. Further reading article with questions to embed and stretch learning. Extension tasks uses the ‘Paper People Warlords’ and students must write speech bubbles to show understanding. Paper People task uses a textbook (Cambridge International AS Level, International History 1870-1945) but could easily be replaced with another/online material. Enjoy!

Very interactive and engaging and looks fantastic to senior staff and forward thinking schools. "history bookmark" to support the learning or introduce next learning. Differentiated tasks with "stretch" task for the more able! QR code is very interactive and allows students to use their phones for their homework which has encouraged participation in my experience. QR code links are already built in - 2 different links for different levels. Resource is simply print and go. Enjoy. Please Review :)
