Infinity School

I'm the founder of a not-for-profit that provides learning activities to children in the US and UK. I teach small groups of children throughout the week and develop lessons when I'm not teaching. I'm a strong believer in learning through making and discovery. I let the child take charge and direct their own learning by creating learning activities that are part of a larger project - letting the student take pride in their work.

I believe in learning through making, discovery and personal projects. Children learn best when they are invested in what they are learning and discovering for themselves. PREVIEW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucljMUwzNJo Our materials topic goes through the process of designing a house. Children learn about different types of materials, how they are made, their properties and then consider how they would use what they have learnt in order to design their own house. The lessons involve a lot of "learning by doing". The video describes what the child needs to discover or make, then, lets the child learn for themselves. Sometimes a concept is explained in the video and then explored more offline. Along the way, we touch on earthquake resistant buildings and insulation as well. Total study time: 20 hours Individual lessons: 15 * UK Age Range: | Year 3 - Year 5 | KS1 - KS2 Science

Preview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImQYw0h2EOk Our forces topic goes through the process of designing a boat. Children learn about different forces all with the motivation of using what they've learnt to design their own boat. There is also a final task to put what they've learnt into practice to prevent intruders! The lessons involve a lot of "learning by doing". The video describes what the child needs to discover or make, then, lets the child learn for themselves. Sometimes a concept is explained in the video and then explored more offline.
