A more thorough and detailed behaviour contract split into specific areas such as Attitude to Peers/learners, attitude to staff/adults, attitude towards the learning environment, attitude to learning. There are consequences written in, but you can edit and change to suit the policies of your department or school. I have found this vey useful for those persistently disruptive pupils, how really do need to see this level of detail about behaviour. Of course, you may find the student only have behaviour issues in one particular area, such as attitude to peers, so you can just use that as part of your behaviour contract.

 This is a jam packed 36 lesson resource, with lesson plans for each of the 36 lessons, info sheets, task sheets, and a stack of exemplars for all abilities. There is a student booklet of 117 pages of content that will take the students through each stage of the Section B Writing exam which will be first assessed this June. The resource has two documents. The Teacher Guide which has all the 36 lesson plans and Answer Sheets for teachers, as well as a detailed introduction. The Students booklet has all the Info Sheets, Task Sheets and exemplars for the students to complete. There is a range of challenge and differentiation for foundation, intermediate, advanced and extended students that will push their potential. I have used my extensive experience as an examine and moderator for AQA and also as a head of department for the last ten years and also my seventeen years of teaching experience to develop a conceptual approach to the English exam that has been massively successful in the past. The unit breaks down each English writing concepts into Macros and micro. Macro Concepts are Topic, Style, Form, Purpose, Register, Audience, Structure (POV, Tense, Narrative devices) and Paragraphing. Micr Concepts are Discourse Markers, Vocabulary, Figurative Language, Grammar and Punctuation. There is a lesson with exemplar material for each of these concepts. After this there are dedicated lessons on descriptive writing with a range of exemplars and then narrative writing techniques with further exemplars of narrative writing. Obviously, we do no have grade boundaries yet, so the exemplars are matched to the levels and marks from the mark scheme. I do appreciate the cost may seem a little steep, but this unit is not just for one year. It is for the new specification for English Language and can be used for the next few years. So, this is an investment for your teaching future. Most mainstream publishers would charge around £80+ for a unit of this detail and depth, but this unit is only £24.
