Inspirational assembly

Inspirational assembly

Using the term 'Phubbing'- (snubbing someone using a mobile phone!) Show the students how much they are missing by being focused on their friends digitally. Link it to progress in school- how much distraction it causes. An assembly to help the students to focus on the small things in life, enjoy your friends and family! Also has a video, I claim no part in it! Just a good resource for the end of the assembly It is a fun assembly which gets students and teachers talking, with the use of a new word! Being yourself Assembly

Being yourself Assembly

It is an assembly about not being a sheep and following others. Explains the benefits of making your own decisions and not being led by others. Good for KS3 to start a feeling of negativity towards following the crowd, gives language to follow on with after the assembly Please review!

Perseverance assembly

Perseverance assembly

This assembly is created to display perserverence in a creative way. Invite a student to the front and give them a straw (Mcdonalds are the best straws, anyone will do) and a potato, ask the try and get the straw through it. While they are trying, go through the assembly and you are trying to point out the different types of learners on slide 2. The final slide is there to point out one of the main benefits to trying hard and having a can do attitude. Please can you review this resource!

Being proactive assembly

Being proactive assembly

An assembly on the rewards of hard work The fable of lazy mouse and industrious mouse with a modern twist. The idea is to show them that they cannot scrounge off peoples good nature their whole lives, eventually they will be judged on what they get at school and they need to be pro active and not lazy! The assembly takes them through the fable and at the end it explains why they need to take a proactive step forward. Excellent for a start, end or middle of the year, an important message, presented in a humorous way to help students take in the message. This received praise from a visiting inspector. Ends with a video from a rocky film, not my clip! Please review this resource

It is a really good assembly to get a buy in from middle to low ability at difficult times of the year. It explains how the students will have different versions of success as they move through life. It works really well at the start or end of a year to help them to be motivated as they move through the year. PLEASE REVIEW!!

Littering assembly

Littering assembly

An assembly on littering. An assembly to try and promote a positive feeling towards their school environment. The students are told about global littering issues and then this is followed by a talk on the more immediate littering in the school. It has an Eminem style rap in it which I did not create, but it adds some humour and gives them something to think about. The tag line is littering is for losers!

Overcoming issues with school

Overcoming issues with school

This is an assembly from the student point of view. It begins by making them aware you know they probably think school is rubbish and they cant wait to leave Then you explain how rubbish being an adult is (fridges breaking, no one helping, being expected to know what to do etc) and you wish you could have one more day at school Then show slide 3 and explain that they are in a great place, parts are rubbish but its got many more good elements, its the only place you see you friends by accident. Couple of quotes as well to explain you have to have bad bits to value the good bits you have. Please review this resource!

Uniform and equiptment card- intervention

Uniform and equiptment card- intervention

These are a uniform and equipment card You give them to either all or selected students. If they fall foul of any of the items on the card, it is signed by the teacher and when they get to three signatures they are given a detention and then given an orange version of the card. If this gets three signatures they get a longer detention, phonecall home etc. Really is very effective and can help students get on the right track quickly Please review

Teamwork assembly

Teamwork assembly

This assembly is good to try and unite a new year group or to get an old year group to start valuing each other more. It revolves around the idea of 'Ducks Flying together'. This is to help them see that they need to support each other regardless of how hard it might be. You need to explain how ducks support each other in their 'flying V', the first duck leads, but when he is tired he goes to the back and a new leader takes over. This end with a clip from 'The mighty ducks'. They talk about how they are all from different places, but together they make a great team. (I have even ended this with a room full of students quacking) Its a fun way to point out an important message. My old year group had 'ducks fly together' all over their year books, it made a huge impact on them. You can print out the logo and put it in form rooms to reinforce the idea over a long period of time

What is on a magazine front cover

What is on a magazine front cover

This is a lesson and a worksheet about making a magazine front cover. The powerpoint takes you through the different elements of a magazine cover and why they are there. The student task has a drag the word idea behind it, they drag the word to the right part of the magazine. To make it more challenging, students need to move the word and then write an explanation underneath each word, to say what it is and why it is there.

Assembly on low level disruption and follow up resource

Assembly on low level disruption and follow up resource

This is a bundle of items with the idea that it will create a constant stream of information he students. The assembly links to the poster which would be displayed in form rooms and centres around being ready to learn. It then links to a littering assembly which has the idea to get them involved in the community within the school and to take care of their surroundings. The addition of the poster on the form board allows the tutors to have a constant way to reinforce the assembly after it has been done. PLEASE REVIEW

3 assemblies to help, inspire and motivate

3 assemblies to help, inspire and motivate

Three assemblies which help to inspire students and put them on the right track in school. The assemblies are aimed at helping students to further themselves in all aspects of their school life. The first assembly covers the idea of being a sheep and not following the poor behaviour and choices of other students. This then leads into an assembly that shows the benefits of hard work in school, especially on the approach to GCSEs. The third assembly is there to inspire them to see the benefits of becoming part of their school and seeing the benefits for them of leaving technology behind sometimes and embracing their friends and surroundings. The three together make a positive impact on the students over a longer period of time. Review are much appreciated
