Here is a AfL/Plenary game that I have used successfully in many of my MFL classes. It’s called ‘Drei Punkte/Trois points/Tres puntos’ depending on which language your teaching, as each team starts with 3 points. It works a lot like battleships where students use whats in the X and Y axis to contribute.
Then you click on the panel above the corresponding box to reveal either a 1 point symbol, a thief or a wave.
1 point means the team gains 1 point, the thief means that team can steal 1 point from another team, and a wave washes away 1 point from that team. The winner is the team with the most points at the end or last team standing.
In terms of output, I have differentiated for different learners and classes and sometimes ask for a whole sentence, a translation or simply an attempt at the pronunciation to warrant unlocking a panel, in this respect the game is highly adaptable to meet the needs of your classes.
