This is a task sheet designed to last an entire lesson. I developed this for cover work but have also used this in a teacher led lesson. The sheet contains the key information for the lesson and a variety of tasks for the students to complete. The tasks follow a difficulty level ladder based on Blooms but adapted to the Science classroom: Recall (simplest) Understand Apply Analyse Evaluate Create (hardest) The lessons follow the Activate KS3 book scheme, although this is an additional lesson designed to stretch the students.

This group of resources has been created for use as induction to science work for year 6 students preparing for secondary school. They can generally be used by KS2 and KS3 students (years 3 to 8) though. Grow a Rainbow: In Science, one of the things we learn about is chromatography. We have a method here that you can use to grow a rainbow using the chromatography method.

I made these for my Ukrainian guest to take to school with her to help her translate initially. They helped her to find her feet in the first few days and feel more prepared before starting. We printed them on A6 and laminated them for her to carry in her blazer pocket. I thought they may help others welcoming a Ukrainian child into their classroom, school or home.
