This is 2 lessons based around New and Emerging Technology. Covers: Robotics, Augmented Reality, Smart Sensors, Artificial Intelligence, The Internet of things and Autonomous Vehicles. There are 2 powerpoints each with their own information sheets for students to explore the technologies themselves and a worksheet to explain the information and the impact they might have. Good discussion lesson, engages students through teacher input and the students exploring the new technologies.

Resources to aid the understanding of electronic components. This includes a number of cards which explain various components designed to be set up in 'stations'. Students then fill in their worksheets moving around the class to find the information. There are two worksheets one of which is differentiated for students that struggle with literacy. There is also a starter task for the next lesson or a way of consolidating the learning of the different components.

This is a series of resources for students to work through in order to complete the BTEC Engineering Tech Award Unit 2 Learning Aim A Module. The download contains a booklet that students work through and research on the internet to complete. 3 Lessons which set up the module, the research tasks and writing the report. A help sheet for the report and pictures for the product. This is based on the exemplar work that was sent out by the exam board. There are only 3 powerpoints but the lesson 2 powerpoint can be adapted to each of the research tasks. This download should cover about 30 hours when all put together.

Presentation and resources for a lesson on the eatwell guide that was released in March 2016. The presentation is used to guide through the lesson with all the tasks explained easily for the teacher and students. Starter task is a task around the new eatwell guide leading to students finding out about the three macronutrients of Fat, Protein and Carbohydrates. Students need to then consolidate what they have learnt in the lesson in the plenary sheet based on the expectations.

Electronic component worksheets used to consolidate the knowledge of simple electronic components used in most school projects, looks at resistor values and LEDs, Capacitors and Battery Clips. Two versions of the worksheet to aid different ability students.

Resistor Value worksheet. Variations of working out resistor values, including tolerances and kilo and mega ohms as well as working backwards from the values to the colours. Includes a table explaining the colours and their values, can be used as a homework or extension task or just to teach about values of resistors.

3 different moodboards used to explain the difference between a collection of images and a well thought out moodboard that can influence the design process. Based on a passive speaker project but can be used to model how a moodboard can be more effective to the design process. Can also be used for differentiation purposes.

Full lesson on Seasonal Food and Food Miles including the PowerPoint and worksheets. The PowerPoint goes through the lesson explaining the parts in the notes section. Bell task, followed by the starter and new information which is written onto the Seasonal food work sheet. Students then use information sheets to create resources to teach the other students about their argument on food miles. Plenary which links the learning to the students everyday life and why it is important. Included: PowerPoint, Work sheet on seasonal food and food miles including numeracy and literacy tasks. Differentiated version also. Information sheets about food miles for the teaching task and a summary sheet for the students to summarise their learning and have a reference. Mock Exam paper for the Pearson Engineering Tech Award Component 3 Part 2 Responding to an Engineering brief. This is a mock exam made by myself based around a bottle opener and a question for the analysis of data part. This was really useful in helping my students prepare for the exam last year.

Resources for a wood working tool activity that requires students to find information on tools and interpret it onto a work sheet. There is a differentiated worksheet for slower or lower ability students in the class with some parts filled in for a guide. The Information sheets can be placed around the classroom so students have to find the tools, recognise them and find the points they need in the text for their sheet. Shows great knowledge retention of tools and understanding of what they are used for.

This is a resource for the Pearson BTEC Tech Award in Engineering Component 1A. This is the research of different engineered products and the companies that come together to engineer them. This is a pack of resources around the write up of the report. There is a presentation to aid writing up the report and suggest certain companies that can be used around 4 different products, Drone, Motorcycle, Pedal Bike and Car. These have been vetted and researched to make sure all the information is available on the companies websites. There is a write up sheet for research and completed sheets around each company to help the completion of these. There is also an example report which uses different engineering sectors than the ones used by the students and has two made up companies so it cannot be copied but gives students an idea of higher expectations. There is also a help sheet which breaks down the report into manageable parts and explains what to include.
