Breathing Square for relaxation/calming

This is a breathing square with clear simple instructions written on each side of the square. The person using it should try to focus all of their attention on their breathing and following the instructions, it might be useful for someone to be with them and guide them through it to start with until they are able to breathe and count themselves. For someone with attention or behavioural difficulties it might be useful for the square to be printed and given to them to carry with them for when they need it.

This presentation is designed for awareness of what social anxiety looks like and has some tips about what you can do to help people with social anxiety. There are two grounding exercises included in the presentation, these can be adapted to use with a group by having them all call out different things they can see, hear etc. Details for your pastoral care team will need to be added to the “where to get help” page
