English Education vs Korean Education
This is a unit of work to explore the English and Korean Education system. It works towards the students completing a task arguing which system is better and why. This was created for year 9 students but could work with younger, and older, students.
First English Lesson
This is a lesson which I taught as my first lesson with KS3 and KS4 English groups. It allowed us to get to know one another, whilst assessing their ability to aid my planning.
Stone Cold Play SOW
This is an English SOW based on the play 'Stone Cold' based on the novel by Robert Swindells. This play follows a teenage boy who is homeless. This was designed for a LA Year 8 group but could be used for year 7/ HA 6. This includes activities based upon each scene, dictionary tasks, comprehension tasks and creative responses. This also includes peer/self assessment activities.
KS3 Drama - Remote Learning - Romeo and Juliet
This includes 6 lessons that have been used for live lessons and remote learning for KS3 students. Each lesson has a PowerPoint and there is also a knowledge organiser and end of topic assessment.

KS3 Drama - Remote Learning bundle
This bundle includes 2 units of work (6 lessons each).
Both units have been used for remote learning and for the delivery of live lessons.
One unit looks at Romeo and Juliet and the other improvisation, with the focus of students developing a script about being stranded on a desert island.
Each lesson has a PowerPoint Presentation
Each unit has a knowledge organiser.
Each unit has an end of topic assessment
There are opportunities for performance and creative tasks, such as script writing.
Lessons includes video examples for students to analyse.
Creative tasks have modelled examples to support students.
KS3 Drama - Remote Learning - Improvisation/ Desert Island!
This is a 6 lessons that focus on using improvisation and asks students to develop a script that follows them being stranded on a desert island.
Each lesson includes a PowerPoint and there is also a knowledge organiser and end of topic assessment includes.
Each script/monologue writing activities have model examples to assist the students.
Pictures as a stimulus
This is a selection of images that can be used as a stimulus for creative writing. For each image there is a caption which could also assist the creative process. These images have also been used in my KS3 drama lessons as starting points for drama.
Octopoem
A fun, end of topic poetry lesson used with low ability year 8 students and year 7 students. This works towards students creating an 'octopoem' for display.
TSLAP poetry anaylsis worksheets *KS3/KS3 English Lit AQA*
This includes a PowerPoint to introduce TSLAP analysis (theme, structure, language, attitude of the poet, personal response).
It also includes a range of worksheets to support TSLAP analysis in relation to poems e.g.
- An analysis poetry structure strip
-A comparison table
- A writing 'frame'
This is used throughout KS3 and KS4 to analyse poetry at our school.
