I teach English Literature in the Seychelles and so follow the Cambridge specifications for iGCSE and A-level. I like to chose texts which are a little different for my students, and often this means there are initially very few pre-made resources available online. I try to focus on helping students memorise key quotes and internalise writing structures where possible; thus quotes sheets, 20 in 10s and example essay responses feature very highly in my resources.

'Wuthering Heights' lesson 16 - chapters 17, 18, 19 and entrapment and imprisonment

Planned for Cambridge A-level students but could easily be adapted. This lesson focuses on chapters 17-19 of the novel as well as taking in an in-depth look at imprisonment and entrapment. The lesson resources include quotes, critical opinions, an example essay question and framing for an essay. The end of the lesson also considers how to look for less obvious semantic links for the 'A grade'.

Planned for Cambridge A-level students but could easily be adapted. This lesson focuses on chapter 6 and the key concept of the sublime. The lesson uses several video clips to help illustrate the importance of nature and setting on the text and ends by asking students to consolidate their learning into an essay-styled response.
