This case study can easily be adapted if you are unfamiliar with Canadian geography. The lesson first goes over the location of the case study and then starts looking at how this area can be developed through mining, energy, tourism and fishing.

Lesson 3/5 on cold environments as part of the new AQA GCSE specification. This lesson covers the challenges of development in the case study area of the northern territories of Canada. The lesson starts by examining a climate graph of a location in the case study area and from there linking climate to challenges regarding food, transportation, work and housing.

This is the second assessment as part of the lessons on the living world. This assessment covers the case study location of the Amazon Rainforest and the cold environment lessons. The assessment is multiple choice and is out of 20 Marks.

This lesson covers the transportation processes that occur in the Middle course and looks at the formation of meanders. For this lesson there is a hands on activity that requires students to look at 3 different sized "particles" that they have to determine how they move. I used balloons, small tennis balls and balls of play-doh all acquired from the pound shop. You could also use other materials. Students also complete this task while listening to the song Proud Mary because, well, rolling on the river. Enjoy the pun!
