Talk Partner Peer Assessment

Talk Partner Peer Assessment

(1)
Every week the children in my class are paired with a different talk partner. At the end of the week I give everyone this sheet to assess how effective they thought their talk partner was. It is excellent to encourage the children to work better in partners and think about the quality of their dialogue and interaction.
Chocolate Themed Enterprise Week

Chocolate Themed Enterprise Week

(2)
A fantastic resource for a full week - encouraging children to think like entrepreneurs! The task is to create a brand new box of chocolates. From designing the chocolates and making the packaging, to writing a persuasive speech and presenting their products to the class! It gets the children to think about costing their chocolates - market research and conducting questionnaires. The children work in groups in the style of 'The Apprentice'.

A carousel lesson for KS1 investigating 2D and 3D shapes. Very interactive activities. Included in the resource are a lesson plan and some shape in the environment images.

2D Shape Bingo Game

(4)
This is a really simple game for KS1 or Lower KS2 children. You can use your own descriptions of shape properties and all the children have to do is work out what shape you are describing! Good plenary activity
Year 3 Calculating Perimeter

Year 3 Calculating Perimeter

(1)
A lesson designed to calculate the perimeter of simple 2D shapes. The lesson is based on finding the perimeter of rectangles and squares. There is an element of ruler skills for measuring sides of rectangles. Finally, there is a ‘Chilli Challenge’ that can be supplemented with work that you feel suits the needs of your class based on AfL. I usually do fluency practice with children working towards the expected standard, varied fluency with children working at the expected standard and ensure my greater depth children are doing problem solving.
Visual Lesson Plan for SEN

Visual Lesson Plan for SEN

This is a great sheet that can be used to break down lessons into easy to manage chunks. By writing down what is expected First, Next, Then, After and Last with short timings, children find lessons much easier to manage and can therefore achieve more. I have also included a reward section. This could be changed but is useful for children who find it particularly difficult to take part in a whole lesson.
Class Dojo Reward Resources

Class Dojo Reward Resources

(0)
Class Dojo is a free reward scheme based on points that children love! They can create their own monster character. I have created some certificates that my 'Top Monsters' receive at the end of each week. I have also created a wall chart to record daily whole class points totals and the weekly top monsters. There is also a label for a box of 'Dojo Tokens'. These can be handed out if you are not currently on the dojo site or app and the children can cash them in later. A fantastic behaviour management resource!

Number bonds to 10 and 20 game

Each set of cards comes in yellow and orange. The idea is to pick one yellow card and then find its matching number bond. This is mainly a KS1 activity. However, I did use it with a year 4 class as a refresher activity and they loved it!
Year 5 Decimals Lesson Pack

Year 5 Decimals Lesson Pack

(0)
This is a pack of lessons I have used to teach the decimals objectives in year 5. I found that using multibase helped visually support the place value for the children - that is what the symbols on the slides refer to but can be removed if necessary. Each lesson follows a similar format for familiarity and continuity. This was taught using Target Your Maths - Year 5 for the independent work the children carried. Again, this can be changed to suit your class.
Ancient Egyptian Religious Beliefs

Ancient Egyptian Religious Beliefs

(1)
Excellent powerpoint for use with KS2 in teaching Ancient Egypt. The resources explains about the different Gods that the Ancient Egyptians worshipped and also background information for why they worshipped in this way.
The Apprentice Maths Week

The Apprentice Maths Week

(0)
Fantastic resource that I use at the end of the year for a weeks worth of maths lessons. It is based on an Apprentice style buying/selling activity. It promotes teamwork and leadership skills but all uses core maths and organisational skills. The 'whole lesson' notebook file explains each step of the process. I found it useful to show the class an episode of 'Young Apprentice' where they complete a similar task.
Recognising Types of Angles
jenniwren1234jenniwren1234

Recognising Types of Angles

(0)
A lesson to help children learn about acute, obtuse, reflex and right angles. There are lots of whole class and talk partner activities. The outcomes being that children can draw each type of angle and estimate the size of given angles.
