Back To School: Motivational Assembly - Who do YOU think you are?

Back To School: Motivational Assembly - Who do YOU think you are?

Are you returning to a new role and need a hard hitting, relevant and motivating speech to really grab your new year group? Or just need something inspiring to use at short notice? This assembly is perfect for any Secondary age group up to and including Sixth Formers. It draws on a speech by Jay Shetty which is both relevant and appealing to the modern student. This assembly asks students to engage with who they really are, and who they want to be post education and nurtures the concept that their goals will all be different and that’s perfectly ok. This is a wholly inclusive and encouraging assembly and will get your students off to a focused start to their year.

This lesson takes students through some immediately engaging activities using animations on the powerpoint and then 'Top Trump' Aspiration Cards and asks the students to think about what is really important to them and what they need to do to achieve success in life. Introduction to the Detective Fiction Genre

Introduction to the Detective Fiction Genre

This lesson introduces KS3 students to the conventions of the Detective Genre using short film clips and a fun game. This works really well as either the first lesson of a topic on this genre or as a transition day activity as the students will enjoy the lesson and be left feeling that studying English is not always reading and writing.
