Periodic table cube net task

Periodic table cube net task

Foldable cube net for students to create a display of knowledge about the Periodic table and four elements of their choice. Four sides: each one about an element of their choice. One side: definition of an element One side: things I know about the periodic table. A lovely creative task where student add information, facts and pictures to create a 3D cube. The end results are fantastic and the learning along the way is fun and can be differentiated depending on students ability.

Plants 3-4 lesson KS2/3 Levelled science lessons that I use to baseline YR7 SEN students

Plants 3-4 lesson KS2/3 Levelled science lessons that I use to baseline YR7 SEN students

Three lessons around plants, pollination, germination based around a core scientific investigation comparing growth of cress in light and dark conditions. I created this to use as the first introductory lessons for YR7 SEN students so that I can quickly get an understanding of each students ability. My lessons need to be simple and clear with lots of hands on activities so much of the assessment is done via open questions during practical tasks. The resources included are lesson PPT with videos and brief lesson guidance, Higher (HA)and Lower(LA) ability investigation scaffold, colourful sequence and foldable worksheets, keywords list, levelled I can statements and teacher / TA open questions to extend students.

Flannimal Natural selection activity

A power point to tell a story of how natural selection occurs over time. Used for lower ability groups but equally as usable for higher groups. Also attached a work book for students to extend the concepts learnt in the story.

Eye spy life stages PPT game

Eye spy life stages PPT game

Remove the tiles one by one and students have to name the life stage.\nI use this with MLD students and support with the statements also attached. Think it work equally well for KS2 as well

history of the atom happy families game

history of the atom happy families game

Very simplified (missing chunks of history) card game of the history of the atom - played as happy families or go fish game. designed for SEN science classes but would be equally good for KS3 classes I am sure.\nPlease leave a comment if you use so I know if it worked well or not.
