This is a lesson given in response to a Transactional Writing assessment. It can be tweaked so that it is not a DIRT but rather the prepapratory lesson. I used this for my Year 8s but can again be tweaked to suit ability range of pupils.
This resource is most suitable for Years 7 and 8 as the extract used for analysis is only 1 paragraph. Alternatively, you can use this as a revision activity for GCSE students. The mark-scheme used is fro AQA language.
