This resource introduces colours to young children and is most suited to English speakers learning Arabic. This series ‘Hala’s Lamp’, has 3 characters the children can get to know, as they say the words. There is pronunciation in English and the written Arabic words provided. This resource is bright and engaging for young children.

These A4 posters show the 10 main subject headings for the DDC numbers 000-900. This set is Midddle east friendly, meaning I have not included images of the other religions under ‘Religion’. I have only put an image of a Mosque as only Islam is recognised in the country I work in (Saudi Arabia). I was unable to find these posters for my library without reference to the other religions, so I have made them myself. These would also be appropriate to use in UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Muslim schools around the world.

Arabic Numbers worksheet

I live in Saudi Arabia and see these numbers everywhere, but it’s the same base 10 number system we use in the western world, because it’s an Arabic system! Roman numerals have no place value so were ultimately useless for adding and subtraction for example. Horray for the Arab world! Introduce your students to Arabic numbers using this worksheet.
